Volunteer Tea Shack and Football Coach

Southmead Junior Football Club
Jarretts Road, Southmead
BS10 6WF Bristol
United Kingdom
Job Type:

Do you want to support the next generation of footballers? Could you give a couple of hours a week to your local sports club? Southmead Junior Football Club are searching for volunteers to help them raise funds for young people’s football and coach their up-coming youth teams. The club relies on support from parents and football enthusiasts to continue providing top flight sport opportunities for young people.

What will I do?  The Football Club needs committed volunteers to help run generally. This doesn’t mean you need any special skills or qualifications – just be passionate about football.  We do however need particular help with running the Tea Shack, out match day café that helps pay for all the kit and match fees for the young people. We also need help from volunteers willing to commit to a Football Coaching Qualification who can help us run our teams.

Why should I do it? You will get to meet others who share your interests and passions in a sociable and fun environment. You get to work with young people, football and undergo appropriate training to develop new skills.

Who should I be? We need people, particularly parents, who are committed to improving the lives of young people through football. A person with experience handling cash or serving food and drink would be ideal for helping us with our Tea Shack. Qualified coaches are welcome.

Where will I be? We are based at Pen Park Pavilion, Jarretts Road, Southmead, Bristol BS10 6WF.

When do you need me? We need you for a few hours every week – a regular commitment is more important to us than a big commitment. For the Tea Shack, support on Saturday morning on match days is crucial. For Coaches, we train in the early evenings during the week and play at the weekend.

Anything else I should know… You will have to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if you are working with children. We will pay for an individual to take on a coaching qualification if you can commit for a season.

How do I sign up!  Call John Rowe, Under 8’s Coach and Chairman, on 07525 401 619 or email [email protected].
