Southmead Festival

A Brief history of the Southmead Festival
The Southmead Festival has been running for 43 years and was originally organised by Southmead Community Council. It is a free, open air event for the people of Southmead and surrounding areas. It was moved to the Greenway Centre from Glencoyne Square in 2012 due to the unpredictable British weather. The indoor space that the Greenway Centre can offer will enable the festival to go ahead come rain or shine.  Going back a few years there was always a parade of different floats, but sadly this has ceased. We would like this tradition to continue, so if you know of anyone who could assist with this for next year’s festival please ask them to contact the Greenway Centre on 0117 9503335.
The festival relies on the generous donations it receives from local people and business to continue each year. This could be money, raffle prizes or people volunteering their time to help on the day. If you would like to make a donation for next year or join the festival committee please email [email protected] or telephone 0117 950 3335
