Care UK’s Trymview Hall, on Southmead Road, invites the Community to a free, virtual event for families caring for loved ones living with dementia.
On Wednesday 16th June, from 2pm-3.30pm, we will be hosting a virtual Understanding Dementia event.
Dementia specialist, Dr Nori Graham, who is the Vice President of the Alzheimer’s Society and has extensive experience in healthcare for older people, will be covering a number of topics to help people understand what it is like to live with dementia. There will also be support and practical advice on what dementia is and how memories are lost, as well as useful tips on how to overcome communication barriers and discover positive approaches to living with the condition.
Charlotte Levin, Home Manager at Trymview Hall, said: “We know that it can be challenging to look after a friend or relative living with dementia. It’s natural to feel confused about the best way to help your loved one, so our event aims to offer professional knowledge and insight to those who need it – as well as providing a hub for shared experiences.
“We want people to know they’re not alone, and we’re here to offer support. This event has proven popular in the past and we’re looking forward to welcoming local people virtually for an inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
For anyone unsure about how to take part in the virtual event, help is at hand. The team at Trymview Hall will host the joint event using Zoom, which is very easy to use. Simply call or email, Customer Relations Manager, Michael Kenny, and he will send a link to join the event and share tips to make the most out of the session.
